Minutes of the Rhode Island B.A.S.S. Foundation
January 19, 2004

President Roger Pray called the meeting to order at 7:15 PM.

Chapters not present:
Adult Bassmasters
Mid-State
Make-a-Wish

Secretary’s Report: Accepted as read

Treasurers Report: Accepted as read

Youth Report: Things are looking good for the Junior Bassmasters. Membership is up, Dues are up-to-date, there are 20-25 members. Their next meeting is March 6 at Mike's house. One of the events they are looking into is having a mini Bass University.

Kasting Kids: The state championships will be held at the Bristol Youth Center on January 30. The qualification event will be held in the morning, with the state championship being held in the afternoon. The winner goes to Disney World.

Environmental Report: No report. Bill will meet with Stafford Pond Association in the near future.

State Team: The meetings are proceeding on schedule. Application for the State Team Open on April 10, at So.Watuppa, will be available at the next federation meeting. Hopefully we can get the application on the website.

Newsletter: No chapters came forward to put the newsletter together for this month or any other month.

Banquet Report: The banquet is all set for Lancellota’s for February 5, 6:00 PM. We will have a door prize. Raffle will be held. The price is $10 a person. The federation will be subsidizing the remainder out of the general fund.

Andrukevitz Award: This award is for outstanding service to the federation. The votes have been cast and the results are known only to me and God.

SQT: Greater Hartford Convention Center Chamber of Commerce is going to make contribution the SQT. The Riverfront Recapture Committee will run the event at the ramp including weigh-in. The ramp fee has been waived for the week. We are looking into complimentary room for the SQT committee. Discount rates at various motels. Boats Works contributed to the orientation meal.

Federation Trail: Is all set. Applications were handed out. An effort is being made to get the applications on the website so you can download it to your computer.

Old Business: Once again Mike Clemente has agreed to run the “Make-A-Wish” tournament that will be held at Upper Slatterville Reservoir on June 11. We will have more on this later.

The question was raised as to when we are going to vote on the new by-laws. It was voted to place the item on next month's agenda.

New Business: New chapter is the Team Wood Boat and Motors we welcome them in to the federation. It was pointed out that all chapters should be incorporated as tax exempt corporations. Team Rhode Island requested $200 for its Youth event.

Meeting adjourned at 8:25 PM. The next meeting is February 16, 2005 at 7:00PM.
