Meeting called to order by President Roger Pray at 7:20.

Secretary’s Report: Accepted as read.

Treasure’s Report: Accepted as read.

Youth Report: The first meeting of the Rhode Island Junior Bassmasters was held December 7, 2002. They elected officer, transacted business, and established a dues structure. In order to raise some money the junior member will be selling candy bars. The Junior Bassmasters will be traveling to Niagara, NY for the regional event.

The Kasting Kids contest will be at a new location this year. It is at West Warwick High School on January 18, from 9:00am to 4:00pm.

An effort is being made solicit donations for the Wish-Come-True fishing tournament. If any chapter would like to make a donation to the Wish Come True please see Mike Clemente.

Environmental Report: Thing have been rather quiet this month. The meeting for Staffords Pond was canceled because of snow and will be rescheduled. The RI B.A.S.S. Federation is gaining allies around the state when it comes to what the sportsman rights are especially the handicapped associations.

Newsletter and Web Page: We need articles for the newsletter to be published in time for the March meeting. Foxwood has sent us $300 for advertisement on our website. If you know anyone who wants to put a banner on our website. Other business is interested in advertising on our website.

Tournament Report: Regretfully Mike Abernathy has submitted his resignation as Tournament Director. Mike had done a great job and he will be missed.

Allen Jackson and Ron Laviare will be the Co-Directors and need our support. Application for the trail have been distributed to the directors. The dates are 4/27 @ Mashpee/Wakeby; 6/22 @ Webster; 7/20 Winnisquam; 8/3 @ Cochituate; 10/5 TOC/TBA. If you are interested in joining the Tournament Committee give Allen or Rob your name.

State Team report: The raffle tickets for the Mid Week Foxwood Get Way are available see Roy for tickets and details. The State Team is sponsoring a Steak Fry this year to be held at the Cranston Legion Bowl and Pub on Park Ave. The SQT will be held at Lake Champlain this year August 15-16. Permits have been applied for in Vermont.

Old Business: We are still getting quotes for a new banner for the Federation.

New Business: The Open meeting will be held March 9, @ Club Jacques starting at 1:00pm. The date for BASS University has been changed so there is no conflict with our open meeting. Dues are due at the next meeting with rosters. If you have any idea for youth projects please let Mike know. If you have any old tackle that you are not using and wish to donate to a worthy cause please bring them to the open meeting.
