Minutes of the Rhode Island B.A.S.S. Foundation
November 20, 2002

Meeting was called to order by President Roger Pray at 7:12PM.

Secretary’s Report: Accepted as read.

Treasurer’s Report: Accepted as read.

Youth Report: A youth chapter is being organized under the guidance of Mike Clemente with age groupings being 7-10, 11-14, 15-17 this will be called the RI Junior Chapter. Local and Regional events are being planned with the Youth Classic being held at Disney World.

We are looking into holding the Kasting Kids events at another location.

Environmental Report: Staffords Pond is open to outboards once again, although a 10 HP limit are in place temporarily.

Newsletter: No newsletter.

State Team: The Foxwood Raffle will be held again this year the top prize will be a two night three day mid week get-a-way stay at the Foxwood Casino with a $250 cash spending. The Federation will have a booth at the convention center along with the State Team.

Banquet Report: The Annual Awards Banquet is all set for Lancelotta’s, February 1, is the date and tickets are $20 apiece. We need a head count by the January meeting and remember each chapter is responsible for the number of ticket they take. You can meet Ray Scott there.

Tournament Report: Applications for the trail is available, please see Mike Abernathy for an application. The trail is all set: 4/27 Webster, Town Ramp

                              6/22 Winnisquam

                              7/20 Cochituate

                              8/3 Winnipesaukee, Ames Farm

                              10/5 TOC Winnipesaukee, Ames Farm or Johnson’s Pond

 

SQT Report: The Board of Directors by roll call vote decided to hold the SQT at Mallets Bay, the vote was 11 for Maletts Bay, 5 for Winnipesaukee, and 0 for Sebago.

So. Watuppa is closed for the year so they may repair the ramp and parking lot, more on this later.

Old Business: The closing of So. Watuppa means we must hold the Club Championship at a new location or in the fall. The new banner for the Federation is going to have a gray back ground with a slogan at the bottom, the new patch in one corner and a bass in the other corner. There is a new “By-Law Committee” that will be reviewing our current by-laws and making recommendations to the Federation. An are of concern is chapter attendance at Federation meetings a chapter could be position of  “not being in good standing”.

New Business: No new business.
