Environmental Report:
The Stafford Pond report was given explaining the cooperative
efforts of the Rhode Island BASS Federation and the Stafford’s Pond
Improvement Association study the water at Stafford’s Pond. The Director DEM
is taking under advisement Roger recommendation to eliminate the ten horse
power restriction and moving to unlimited horse power with speed limits.
PETA is making inroads in Rhode Island and we must be aware of their
efforts.
Youth Report:
The format for the Kasting Kids is going to change the two
age group winners are going to compete for a single prize at the classic.
The Junior Bassmasters will be run with a similar format as the Classic.
Tournament Report:
No report.
SQT:
The entry fee this year is going to be $90 and is due at
the July meeting. The sign up cards will be given up out at the next
meeting. If you have any extra fisherman put them on a card with a note so
stating. The pairings will be announced at the orientation meeting at Hotel
6 in Colchester, Vermont. They mat be put on the website before that time.
Big Fish Awards:
Berkley is changing its “Big Fish Awards” program so that you
can only qualify for the prizes if you catch the big fish at Federation
Events. Club tournaments do not count anymore.

New Business:
Congratulations to Joel St. Germain for his outstanding
performance at the national by placing second overall and capturing the
Eastern Regional Championship. He is going to live the dream and fish the
classic in New Orleans.
Because we were a member of the Alliance
we received a voucher for a $35,000 bass boat, motor, and trailer. The
executive board will make a decision and bring it back to the board.
Make-A-Wish tournament will be held at
Slattersville on June 14 it is request that each club send someone to help.
It was voted to pay for the trophies for this event.
The top six finishers on the state team
will need to turn in copies of their insurance ASP.
