That was one for the record books right there. We were a bit worried after the first day that we may not be able to hold our lead of 30 lbs. but after increasing it to 55 lbs. on day 2 we started feeling a little better and I think we all started walking around like we were going to win. I have never caught so many smallmouth over 5 lbs. in a week. Many members of the team also had some really nice fish. Me and Dick W both had a 6-8 and 6 plus respectively in practice. Mike O'leary had a beautiful 6-5 in the tournament and they said the bite was really off. Our team members that were fishing for largemouths were crushing them. They did so well that the Canadian team was running around asking (Now where exactly were those weedbeds you guys fished?) Then they would say (A) because after every sentence they finished with (A). Our whole team was saying it after 1 day in Canada. Great job guys!! Our juniors were great! Way to get it done.
